CeCe

Updated February 19, 2026

Cece passed away on 29th of January 2026. Her time with us was far too short but she has left a cherished legacy with all of us. We wish to continue to share her story.

A tiny lamb with the biggest of hearts. As we were about to leave, having carefully collected her, her human suddenly called out, “Her blanket… her blanket… do you want to take her blanket?” Yes, we do. CeCe is named for where she was found, Creightons Creek, but her strength comes from somewhere far greater.

Her kind human had lost everything except hope in the recent Longwood Bushfire. They had no animals on their property, yet somehow CeCe found her way there.

Her injuries are severe and all four hooves are burned, along with other sensitive areas. She is painfully thin and weak. For now we have treated her burns, bandaged her hooves, tube fed her and eased her pain.

She is resting now, wrapped in care and kindness.

Everything that can be done has been done.

And still, she nibbles at our chins.

She is resting now, wrapped in care and kindness. And so are we.

We could not promise a miracle. But we promised she would not be alone. That is why we took her blanket—a piece of the love she came from.

Please hold CeCe gently in your hearts.
