Meet Cookie Monster
“Okay little buddy,” we cooed into the fuzzy ear of the tiny two-day-old lamb who had just started kneading our hearts, “There’s just one rule here – be kind”. And clearly obedient to this dictum has Cookie Monster been ever since.
Despite his less-than-kind start in the world that saw him wandering, albeit cheerily, around the streets of suburbia, Cookie Monster would appear to be a lamb without a mean bone in his diminutive, wee body.
Feverishly devouring his bottle and our gentle cuddles, his appetite for love is so typical of orphan lambs such as he. Struck by his ability to so readily adapt to his new way of living with his bestest buddies – the cheeky Brandy, and the impish Buzz Lightyear – we, too, cannot help but be moved by their childlike non-judgemental ways and ability to find joy in every moment.
Imagine, if you can, awakening each morning as if it is the most magical of days, setting out to explore them in every direction, running, skipping, and jumping until you can no more, then plonking yourself down in your own little boat. And all the while you do this, bringing cheer and good humour to those who have been blessed by witnessing you.
For this is indeed the lot of Cookie Monster and Co, and something that we feel comes when your life is defined by one rule – be kind.
Although the sweet little goat we have named Daisy May might not know it yet, she has arrived at one of the best places an escapee goat from an abattoir ever could.
Question: What is cuter than a kid goat in a coat? Answer: Three kid goats in coats!!!!
It took a village to bring the premature space cadet to safety – but oh boy was it worth it.
Marko certainly marked our lives the evening he entered them. Although we may never be sure from where exactly he sprang.
