When Your Name is Our Prophecy
If you don’t allow yourself to move beyond the past, to lift your eyes from the ground and look at life anew, nothing will rupture the old patterns. That way of being. That injustice. Life left unchecked will continue to fulfill the prophecy of fear.
If a picture paints a thousand words, the one before us was a haunting memoir of despair.
In the corner of the trailer, scrawny sheep huddled close—three fragile beings clinging to each other, radiating confusion, abandonment, and a hollow, wordless question: Why?
And while we couldn’t answer that question, we couldn’t look away.
On enquiring about their fate at the pound, we learned it was uncertain. But in one simple act—our call—their future changed in an instant, from unsure to assured.
And then we met them.
Startled and scared, their desperate eyes met ours, scanning for an escape. But there was none. Not this time.
Hope.
“Sweet lovelies,” we cooed softly, as we leaned into their trembling gaze. “All will be well. Of this, we promise you.”
Prophecy.
And then, gently, we spoke their names aloud: Bliss—the likely mother. Oasis and Serenity—her precious twins.
Names given not just to mark them, but to bless them. To invite them forward into a life their hearts had barely dared to imagine.
Courage.
Just 24 hours later, hints of change began to show. A softening of the eyes. A stilling of the feet. Tiny cracks in the walls built by fear.
Perhaps they sensed it—some ancient knowing that sanctuary had found them. That here, finally, they could lay down their burdens.
And in finding sanctuary, they found their escape route not just from danger, but from despair. From their past.
They had found their way home.
There is something breathtakingly beautiful in moments like these—when eyes soften, when hearts cease their frantic race, and trust begins to flow.
Although we know the road ahead will be long, the small magic that unfolded tells us their hearts have not been frozen beyond thaw. That kindness has found a path in.
And so, we will walk with them. We will wait for them. One gentle step at a time. Toward a life not defined by their past but shaped by something extraordinary that lies ahead.
Kindness.
Have courage, sweet ones. Have faith.
Your names shall be our prophecy for you.
