Meet the Pop Stars

Updated May 19, 2026

They arrived on a chilly Saturday morning and, in the way only orphan lambs can, turned the rhythm of sanctuary life upside down. Pop, Paddle Pop, Popee and Pop Star.

Four tiny lives, only days old, all legs and longing and milk-bottle urgency. Little Paddle Pop, barely two kilos in might but far greater in spirit, has already decided that size is no barrier to living boldly. Pop, the biggest of the quartet, has already assumed the role of big brother, despite now battling joint ill, a cruel bacterial infection we are treating with haste and hope.

Popee, soft and snow-white, carries the sweetness of one who should only ever be cherished, never reduced to production. And the ever-affable Pop Star, blissfully unaware that obscurity was once meant to be his fate, has stepped with ease into his rightful role as cuddle-seeker, heart-stealer and tiny celebrity.

They are chaos and comedy and tenderness wrapped up in fuzzy wool.

And somehow, despite the endless bottle feeds, nappy changes and broken sleep, we fall more in love with them each day.

They are not born motherless by design, yet so many become so through hardship

But behind the sweetness and joy of orphan lambs lies a truth far harder to hold.

They are not born motherless by design, yet so many become so through hardship, loss, misadventure, exposure or the brutal mathematics of an industry that counts deaths as numbers, not names.

That is the part the world rarely sees.

So while we are endlessly grateful these four were noticed, rescued and given a chance beyond the paddock, there is also sadness woven through the joy they bring. Because as much as we adore them, we would surrender every cuddle and every bottle in a heartbeat if it meant another lamb never had to suffer in order to arrive here.

Still, Pop, Paddle Pop, Popee and Pop Star are here now.

They are safe, warm and wanted.

And while they may have arrived by misadventure, they will remain by love.
